VLV Mother Chapter

Formerly, there was no Venerable Lady Veterinarians Sorority in GAUF, it so happened that in every school activity participated in by Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity in school campus, a muse from both Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Food Technology was chosen to represent the Venerable Knight Veterinarians. Because of their loyalty to the Fraternity, they were called “VKV Sweethearts”. They were initiated on March 29, 1969 at the old site, HS Bldg (GAUF) by both UP and GAUF VKV. Later on the name was changed to Venerable Lady Veterinarians Sorority.

UP Chapter

For the past years, the subject of putting up a lady counterpart for the Venerable Knight Veterinarians (VKV) Fraternity was a controversial issue. By virtue of brotherhood and tradition, the organization persisted as a fraternity without a sorority until late 1986. It was on August 26 that same year that a final vote was drawn in favor of the creation of the lady counterpart, the VLV. A few months later, on December 6, 1986, the pioneer batch of twelve determined ladies was sworn in to the VKV-VLV family. These twelve students were given trust to be able to pursue further the VKV objectives but this time to the female population of the profession.

The first year of organization was a lot of hardship and trials for the pioneer batch. They had to live up with the antagonisms of the various organizations in the College of Veterinary Medicine. But in spite of the various obstacles, the VLV came out shining especially with its first major activity, the UP Concert Chorus in Concert which was a big success.
